CALL FOR WORKS
As part of this joint event, we invite composers to submit electroacoustic audio-visual works for performance. We are particularly looking for audio-visual works that explore or engage with the following themes:
• Artificial Intelligence
• Algorithmic Composition
• Storytelling
• Environmental awareness
• Live AV performances
• Game audio/music
We are keen to consider works that address the broader theme of the conference through innovative approaches in sound and image production.
Works selected will be presented in the MANTIS Sound Diffusion system in the Cosmo Rodewall Theatre at the Martin Harris Centre.
Submission requirements:
Please upload a single zipped folder to a permanent repository (such as Google Drive), including the following:
1. Audio-visual file (maximum 2GB) or a recorded demonstration of any live work.
2. Programme note, including the year of creation (maximum 200 words) in PDF format, Word doc or similar.
3. Artist short bio (maximum 100 words) in PDF format, Word doc or similar.
4. Technical requirements (number of channels, mapping, etc.) format as above.
Works should be no longer than 10 min.

Please avoid sending download links that expire (e.g. Wetransfer, etc.)
Unfortunately, we can’t provide accommodation and transportation fees, but we can offer acceptance letters on request.
The submission deadline is 5th of July 2023.
Submitted works will be reviewed by a panel of staff members and postgraduate students at the University of Manchester.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by 21 July 2023.
